The Love of Your Life
Dear Friends,
Last month I attended my first Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat and it was one of the best experiences of my life!
I loved spending a week with 2000 people from 58 countries, gathered together to learn more about mind/body healing so we could better heal ourselves, each other, and the world.
Four major research studies were being conducted at the event, with a large team of scientists collecting data throughout the week, and we heard several super interesting presentations by the lead researcher from the University of California, San Diego. I love learning about the science of healing!
Every day we’re moving closer to a world where the best of Western medicine is integrated with mind/body techniques that are proving to be so powerful and it’s exciting to be part of that movement.
Each Dr. Joe retreat has a theme, and this one was “The Love of Your Life,” which has a lot of personal meaning for me.
First, because my wonderful husband is the love of my life! We have been together more than 44 years and it keeps getting better and better.
The Love of Your Life theme also has special meaning for me because I remember very distinctly that a major turning point in my recovery from decades-long chronic mental and physical illness was falling in love with my life again.
In 2016 my life had become very limited due to my physical and mental health challenges, and I really wasn’t enjoying life anymore. I also felt very discouraged about what was happening in the world.
When I found a brain retraining program and community and learned about how important it is to love ourselves and our lives, I started working on falling in love with my life and the world again.
It took time and practice, but I remember when I finally got to the point where I was so in love with life that it didn’t even matter whether I mentally and physically healed or not - I just felt so grateful to be alive.
I could be in love with my perfectly imperfect body, brain, life, and the world without needing anything to be different.
And then I started to heal, which created an upward spiral of increasing health and happiness that is still continuing to this day. I am so grateful.
What small step can you take today towards falling more deeply in love with your life?
Sending you much love,
Liz
